Relationship Therapy

WHAT IS Relationship THERAPY?

Therapy that supports couples (and relationships of all forms) in navigating challenges they are facing. Relationship therapy provides those who seek it with the support and tools needed to overcome conflict, navigate life transitions, or simply work on developing healthier patterns, greater understanding, and more meaningful connections.

TECHNIQUES USED IN Relationship THERAPY?

Relationship therapy is tailored to the unique strengths, challenges, and goals of each couple or relationship. We take a collaborative, integrative approach that helps partners better understand one another, strengthen emotional connection, improve communication, and navigate conflict, change, and transitions with greater empathy and confidence.

Our work draws on evidence-based approaches including Imago Relationship Therapy, Terry Real's Relational Life Therapy (RLT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), person-centred therapy, and attachment-informed approaches. Therapy may include communication tools, conflict resolution strategies, emotional regulation techniques, and exercises designed to foster understanding, trust, intimacy, and relational wellbeing.

Relationship therapy can support romantic partnerships, but it is also valuable for many other types of relationships, including parent–child relationships, family dynamics, friendships, and business or professional partnerships. Any relationship where communication, trust, boundaries, or understanding feel challenged can benefit from a supportive space to explore patterns and develop healthier ways of relating.

Relationship therapy can also provide valuable support when a partnership is coming to an end. We work with couples who choose to separate, helping them navigate this transition with compassion, respect, and care. Where children are involved, therapy can support parents in reducing conflict, processing the loss of the relationship, and creating a strong foundation for a healthy lifelong family connection beyond the partnership.

WHAT CAN Relationship THERAPY HELP WITH?

Relationship therapy can support people navigating a wide range of relational challenges and transitions. Therapy may be helpful for communication difficulties, recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, trust concerns, healing after infidelity, and rebuilding safety and connection within a relationship.

We also support partners navigating differences in values, beliefs, culture, family expectations, and life goals, as well as changes in relationship structure such as opening a partnership or exploring consensual non-monogamy. Relationship therapy can help couples work through differences in sexual desire or libido, intimacy concerns, changes in attraction, and the impact of stress, life transitions, or personal experiences on the relationship.

Whether you are looking to repair a rupture, strengthen your connection, better understand each other, or navigate a significant change, relationship therapy provides a supportive space to explore patterns, develop new ways of relating, and create a relationship that reflects your shared needs and values.
